Disaster recovery depends on remote backup. I use and recommend Mozy.

Welcome to the first edition of Computer Updates!

Critical vulnerabilities have been identified in Flash Player that could allow an attacker who successfully exploits these vulnerabilities to take control of the affected system.

Adobe recommends all Flash Player 8.0.22.0 and earlier users upgrade to the new version 8.0.24.0, which can be downloaded from the Player Download Center. For customers that cannot upgrade to Flash Player 8, please refer to the Flash Player 7 update TechNote.

Please follow Adobe's recommendation above and download the latest version of the Flash Player. I suggest that you uncheck the Yahoo! Toolbar - most of you know I am not a fan of third party toolbars.

Now that we have you thinking about security go ahead and update your anti virus software.

If you use Norton AntiVirus open the program and click the Live Update button and follow the prompts to search for and install updates.

For McAfee VirusScan (Brian's recommendation) right click the white on red "M" in your system tray (bottom right corner of your screen - near the time) and select "Updates" and then "Check Now" on the McAfee window that opens. Log in if required.

For AVG right click the AVG icon in the system tray (four color square) and select "Check for Updates." Install updates if it finds any.

Sure your anti virus updates the definition files automatically, but sometimes there are program updates available and I recommend that you check for these periodically.

Please call me, 954-434-1968, if you require assistance.
